The thorny Journey

The thorny Journey

The Road was thorny,
And the journey sunny.
His food was suffering,
While he thought of nothing-
Day and night ´xcept to save: U & ME.
And through the Cross,
The grace thus to us. Peace!

Hail dearly Mother Diocese, Awgu, hail
Hail oh land of Peoples and produce
Hail dear soil set in different planes and terrains
Hail, our people with open arms embrace

You for us all things have become
Hills and Rocks for our fortress and might
And yet lands so levels and rich for food
Oh the beauty of mother diocese, Awgu

In thee the brightness of our hope is sown
For once we feebly struggled to be
And fought the fight of faith so fierce
But lo, our light and faith in you is born

Arise Kings, arise chiefs
Arise Priests and peoples young and old
Surround our diocese in blest communion and fellowship divine
Till we sing the sweet song: Hail Awgu, in Paradise

From earth’s wide bounds, we praise
And oceans farthest coasts, we praise
With the songs of our streams and birds, we praise
Singing to Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Alleluia.
